Compliance Inspections
Get Ready!

Enriquez is committed to helping you comply with the laws that impact your business. Our staff is trained to assist you in completing forms for prototype compliance; our production team will build different classifications of prototypes; and, prior to July 1, 2007 we held three training seminars on how to comply with CPSC 1633. We will hold future trainings on this or other issues as needed or requested.

Prepare for a CPSC 1633 Inspection

Here are tips to help you meet the compliance requirements of CPSC 1633 and prepare for an inspection.

Documentation: have all documents ready, including corporate articles of incorporation and your company's written quality assurance program.

Prototypes: prepare documentation of each category of prototype mattress: qualified, certified and subordinate. Have clearly defined file storage areas.

Components: Prepare to show the raw components in storage and ones in process. Show the materials have been checked at the plant for quality assurance.

More details on how to prepare for a CPSC 1633 Inspection are included in an article from Bed Times, October 2007 covering the inspection of a mid-size manufacturer.

How to Select Correct Prototypes

According to the CPSC, "Smart prototyping is the single most important step in controlling cost during the compliance process."

You can get answers to specific questions related to prototypes by visiting the CPSC web site.
